BOGOTA, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Energy Analytics Institute, 19.Aug.2025, Words: 325) â Ecopetrol‘s Cartagena refinery successfully completed implementation of the first phase of the solar farm. In so doing, it guaranteed energy production of 4.4 gigawatt hours, equivalent to the annual supply of 2,200 Colombian households.
This volume of energy has been produced since 2024, when the installation of the 40,146 solar panels of this farm was completed. The panels are located on 19.9 hectares of land and supply the operation of the 34 production units of the refinery.
