Obregón boasts formalization of 61 definitive alliances

HOUSTON, TEXAS  (By Pietro D. Pitts, Editores Latin Petroleum, 12.Oct.2026, Words: 158) — Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) president Héctor Obregón said recently announced strategic advances related to the Venezuelan energy sector aimed at consolidating a sustainable energy model.

Obregón again boasted formalization of 61 definitive alliances, and 44 active negotiations estimated to close by year-end 2026 with a total of 105 agreed contracts.

Between 65%-70% of the signatures will be allocated to the development of “green fields” for the construction of new oil, electrical and road networks, Obregón said on 12 Oct. 2026 during a PDVSA broadcast of national television.

Adding to this momentum is the recent reform of the Organic Hydrocarbons Law, he said, which “strengthens legal security by institutionalizing new contractual schemes and incorporating international arbitration to attract private capital.”
