Shell Colombia President Ana María Duque reiterated the co. was looking to commence drilling at the Gorgon 2 well offshore Colombia’s Caribbean coast by YE:21. Duque, said 14 Dec. 2021 during the La República Forum (Foro LR), that the process as one of the most important drilling campaigns in Colombia as the co. aims to determine if there are enough offshore gas resources to potentially move forward activities at the well.

Ecuador

EP PetroEcuador announced on 14 Dec. 2021 in an official stmt that it had sufficient supplies at all its terminals of gasolines, diesel, jet fuel and fuel oil used to generate electricity as well LPG for domestic usage. The declaration comes just a day after the gov’t declared force majeure on oil exports amid advancing soil erosion in the Napa region around the country’s hydrocarbon infrastructure, especially its pipelines.

— Venezuela’s oil minister Tareck El Aissami reportedly returned to his duties at the ministry after undergoing hernia surgery. The official made the comments 14 Dec. 2021 on Venezuelan state TV and accused wire agency Reuters of spreading false rumors about his possible departure from the ministry. Delcy Rodriguez and Asdrubal Chavez were floated as possible officials to take over at the oil ministry.
