New RIGI approved for construction of fertilizer plant

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Editores LatinPetroleum, 7.Sep.2026, Words: 117) — Argentina continues to attract productive investments.

This, after Pampa EnergĂ­a announced an investment project for the construction, operation, and management of a granulated urea plant.

The plant is a strategic input for Argentina’s agricultural sector, Argentina’s Energy Secretariat said on 7 Sep. 2026 in an official statement. 

The initiative will require an investment of $2.7bn and generate more than 4,800 jobs during its construction.

The project anticipates annual exports of over $800mn, generating a positive impact on foreign exchange earnings, the secretariat said.
