Mexican agencies from PEMEX to SENER debunk claims about gas station closures 

MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 16.Jun.2026, Words: 210) — In response to information published in an opinion column claiming the Mexican government is closing gas stations to hide an alleged shortage of gasoline and diesel, the Ministry of Energy (SENER), Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX), the National Energy Commission (CNE), the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (PROFECO), and the Agency for Safety, Energy and the Environment (ASEA) clarify that this is completely false. 

The aforementioned agencies said the following: the inspections carried out by the regulatory bodies are conducted in strict accordance with applicable regulations, in accordance with their powers and obligations.
