BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA (By Steve Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 27.Jun.2026, Words: 179) — Rescue teams from several countries, including El Salvador, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Switzerland, Ecuador, Spain, Chile, Colombia, and the US, have been confirmed to have arrived to Venezuela.
This, however, almost 3 days after 2 earthquakes on 24 Jun. 2026 rocked the OPEC country.
Material damage continues to be monitored in other states following declaration of a disaster zone in La Guaira, Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez said on 27 Jun. 2026 during a broadcast on Venezuelan state television.
She also reported humanitarian aid contingents are being sent from Germany, the Netherlands, and Italy.

Venezuela has declared La Guaira state a strict disaster zone due to the double earthquake that struck this region of the country.
6 other Venezuelan states, in addition to La Guaira, were also affected by the double earthquake of 24 Jun. 2026: Yaracuy, Aragua, Carabobo, Falcón, Miranda, and the Capital District (Caracas).
