BOGOTA, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Energy Analytics Institute, 6.Oct.2025, Words: 395) — The execution of rockfill works at the Loco River outlet, the protection distance against erosion, was increased to 140m from 70m relative to the Trans-Ecuadorian Pipeline System (SOTE) and the Shushufindi-Quito pipeline.
This intervention, led by state-owned EP Petroecuador, was part of a 3-stage technical plan to strengthen the safety of this infrastructure and guarantee the continuity of crude oil transportation.
