HOUSTON, TEXAS (By Pietro D. Pitts, Energy Analytics Institute, 6.May.2025, Words: 440) — ExxonMobil Guyana, which in Dec. 2024 completed construction of a natural gas pipeline that flows from the Stabroek block offshore Guyana to the mainland, is now just waiting on completion of an onshore power plant so that it can start to commission gas.
ExxonMobil Guyana led construction of a 12 inch diameter ~200km (140 mile) gas pipeline from the offshore assets in Stabroek to a special industrial zone in Wales on the West Bank of Demerara. ExxonMobil Guyana’s partners in Stabroek include Hess Corporation and CNOOC.
