Bolivia fuel supplies less than normal

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Editores Latin Petroleum, 6.Oct.2026, Words: 142) — Fuel supplies in Bolivia have yet to return to normal, and queues at gas stations persist.

This, despite efforts by Bolivia’s state-owned oil company YPFB to boost controls such as blocking license plates used for repeated fuel purchases, El Diario reported on 6 Oct. 2026.

Previously, the queues were for diesel; now they are for gasoline.

Bolivia’s hydrocarbons minister Marcelo Blanco stated that, following the elimination of the diesel subsidy, smuggling has shifted to gasoline.

Amid these long queues, YPFB issued a statement over the weekend announcing that after negotiations and coordination with the National Hydrocarbons Agency (ANH) and local governments, fuel distribution to gas stations nationwide has increased.
