BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Editores Latin Petroleum, 6.Oct.2026, Words: 188) — Bolivia’s Attorney General’s Office (PGE) identified 7 irregularities in the contracting process for the waterproofing of industrial pools belonging to Bolivian Lithium Deposits (YLB).
The contract was awarded in 2016 to Gerimex SRL for over Bs 24mn, reported El Diario on 6 Oct. 2026, citing attorney general Hugo César León La Faye.
In a report prepared jointly by the PGE and YLB, the entities noted inconsistencies in the evaluation of form A-6, which pertains to the minimum equipment required for the project, which was not fully assembled.
The report also identified changes to the evaluation criteria after the bids were opened and the assignment of scores without justification within the established ranges.
The PGE also observed the contracting process was initiated and carried out without budgetary certification and indicated a possible predetermined award.
According to the attorney general, the identified irregularities could constitute criminal offenses and will be investigated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
