Baker Hughes delegation visit with Delcy in Venezuela

CARACAS, VENEZUELA (By Piero Stewart, Editores Latin Petroleum, 3.Oct.2026, Words: 170) — Representatives from US company Baker Hughes, led by its CEO, Lorenzo Simonelli, travelled to Venezuela to meet with Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez.

This, as part of efforts to discuss cooperation in natural gas production in the Caribbean country.

The talks are part of aims by Venezuela to identify avenues for cooperation and improve the country’s infrastructure and production capacity, Venezuela’s presidency revealed on 3 Oct. 2026 in an official statement.

During the meeting, alliances and new projects to develop the gas sector in Venezuela were reviewed. Proposals for developing infrastructure in gas-producing areas and the use of new technologies to increase efficiency and reduce emissions in the sector were also discussed.

Importantly, representatives from Lindsayca and New Stratus Energy were also present at the meeting, which aims to promote the use of gas resources and international cooperation in energy matters.
