(Energy Analytics Institute, 1.Jan.2020) — Bolivia’s state oil and gas entity Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Boliviano (YPFB) and Argentina’s IEASA signed onto a fifth addendum to a natural gas purchase and sale agreement to guarantee continued bilateral energy trade between both countries in the new year.

The volumes agreed under the addendum will fluctuate between 9 million cubic meters per day and 20 million cubic meters per day, depending on seasonality, Bolivia’s Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy announced 1 January 2021 in an official statement.

“Natural gas prices under the fifth addendum will be realized based on the fluctuation of international prices,” ministry head Franklin Molina said in the statement. “The state is expected to achieve higher income compared to the fourth addendum signed in February 2019,” he added.
