ATLANTA, GEORGIA (By Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 30.Jul.2025, Words: 194) — Aker BP exercised the option for the extension period under the existing contract for the semi‑submersible drilling unit Scarabeo 8, originally awarded in Mar. 2022.
This option, which is in direct continuation of the previous one-year contract extension, prolongs the contract until 31 Dec. 2027. During this period, the Scarabeo 8 will be operating for Aker BP offshore Norway.
