ECOPETROL increased natgas market support to 97 GBTUD during SPEC maintenance

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Energy Analytics Institute, 31.Jul.2026, Words: 237) — ECOPETROL, in compliance with the regulatory provisions issued by the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and following the recommendations of the National Gas Operations Council (CNO Gas), initially committed 81 GBTUD for firm delivery. 

Subsequently, the ministry reported additional quantities were required for thermal power generation. As a result, the state-owned company evaluated new alternatives to ensure national supply during the period of infrastructure unavailability.
