ATLANTA, GEORGIA (Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 10.Apr.2025) — US Secretary of the Treasury Scott K.H. Bessent will depart early next week for Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he is expected to engage with both government and private sector leaders and affirm the US’ full support for Argentina’s bold economic reforms.
During the visit, Bessent is expected to reiterate the US’ firm backing for the continued implementation of the “robust economic agenda” rolled out by Argentina’s president Javier Milei, while encouraging the international community to fully support Milei’s economic reform efforts.
“Under president Milei, Argentina has conducted policy through actions, not just words. As highlighted by [US] president Donald J. Trump, president Milei has brought Argentina back from economic oblivion,” Treasury announced on 10 Apr. 2025 in an official statement.
