PEMEX reports average oil production of 1.336 MMb/d

MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Editores Latin Petroleum, 1.Oct.2026, Words: 154) — State-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) released its Aug. 2026 operating results 4 days late compared to the date established in its publication schedule, El Financiero reported.

Nonetheless, the results reveal low levels in crude oil production and exports.

Crude oil production reached 1.336 million barrels per day (MMb/d) during the first 8 months of 2026, representing its lowest level since the company began keeping records, the daily reported on 1 Oct. 2026.

Oil production saw a year-on-year decline of 2.7%, marking its largest drop since Nov. 2015.

Additionally, PEMEX, under the helm of Juan Carlos Carpio, produced 300,800 b/d of condensate, which, combined with crude oil production, resulted in a total of 1,637,000 b/d of liquid hydrocarbons.
