HOUSTON, TEXAS (By Pietro D. Pitts, Editores Latin Petroleum, 11.Sep.2026, Words: 149) — In a significant step toward regional collaboration, Venezuela and Suriname signed an energy agreement that promises to transform hydrocarbon production in the region.
The agreement looks to strengthening ties between the 2 countries South American countries.
Venezuela’s interim president Delcy Rodríguez, accompanied by Venezuela’s hydrocarbons minister Paula Henao, announced Venezuelan oil experts will provide training and technical support to the Surinamese industry.
This agreement not only represents an opportunity to boost oil and gas production in Suriname, but also highlights Venezuela’s “commitment to sharing its experience and knowledge in the energy sector,” Henao said on 11 Sep. 2026 in an official statement.
“Together, we are moving toward a more prosperous and sustainable future,” Rodríguez added.
