Pitts, Energy Analytics Institute, 8.Jun.2026, Words: 598) — The head of Ministry of Energy and Mining of Santa Cruz, Jaime Álvarez announced the call for national and international public tender no. 02/ENERMIN/2026 for the exploration of the “South Río Deseado East” hydrocarbon area, located near Caleta Olivia, within the San Jorge gulf basin.
During a press conference held at the headquarters of the provincial energy ministry, Álvarez emphasized the initiative is part of the policy promoted by governor Claudio Vidal to encourage investment – in relation to the trade mission to Canada months ago – incorporate new technologies, and develop resources that will allow for the expansion of Santa Cruz’s productive base.
