HOUSTON, TEXAS (Philipp Markopulos, Energy Analytics Institute, 13.Mar.2025) — Woodside Energy CEO Meg O’Neill reaffirmed her company’s strong commitment to development of Mexico’s energy goals and dedication to progress the Trion project, in close collaboration with its Mexican partner state-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).
Trion is a greenfield development that would represent the first oil production from Mexico’s deepwater. It is located in the Gulf of Mexico at a water depth of 2500m, approximately 180km off the Mexican coastline.
