ATLANTA, GEORGIA (By Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 1.Nov.2026, Words: 132) â Some offshore workers could lose their jobs as a result of a new weight requirement being introduced, according to BBC.
The measure is designed to make sure people can be rescued safely via a winch and a helicopter if an issue was to arise, the UK news agency reported on 1 Nov. 2026.
âIndustry body Offshore Energies UK has said less than 250 workers are now above the new weight limit, which also includes the weight of travel clothes and shoes.
But union RMT has said the introduction of the rule could cost some workers their livelihoods,â BBC said.
