ENARGAS Says Operations at Cerri Plant in Bahía Blanca Halted

BELIZE CITY, BELIZE (Aaron Simonsky, Energy Analytics Institute, 7.Mar.2025) — Argentina’s National Gas Regulatory Entity (ENARGAS) said that due to extreme weather conditions in Bahía Blanca, the General Cerri Plant, operated by Transportadora de Gas del Sur S.A. (TGS), was shuttered.

The decision to halt operations generated a reduction in the supply of natural gas, ENARGAS announced on 7 Mar. 2025 in an official statement. However, ENARGAS said gas for priority demand (homes, hospitals, schools, businesses) was still guaranteed.
