(Energy Analytics Institute, 13.Apr.2022) — ExxonMobil continues to work closely with its local partners in Guyana to develop its new office campus in the small South American country.

The oil giant has commenced construction of the steel superstructure for the project, which is expected to span 120,000 square feet.

The campus will be situated on a 15-acre green field site adjacent to Ogle Airport on the outskirts of Georgetown, Guyana’s capital. The facility will be ExxonMobil’s in-country headquarters, according to details revealed by Update Group on 13 April 2022 on LinkedIn.

“Engineering aspects worth noting include a 1.5 megawatt solar panel system supported by a similar-sized energy storage system, which is connected to the grid. This infrastructure and standby fuel generators are all managed by a microgrid controller which will return surplus energy to the network, making the electrical engineering an interesting challenge,” Update Group said, adding that once completed this facility will have a “net-zero energy footprint.”
