World Bank approves $300mn for Uruguay to improve competitiveness

BOGOTÁ, COLOMBIA (By Ana Sanches, Editores Latin Petroleum, 14.Sep.2026, Words: 95) — The World Bank‘s executive board approved a $300mn loan for Uruguay.

The loan will destined to finance reforms in the Southern Cone country focused on competitiveness, private investment, and employment, LaRed21 reported on 14 Sep. 2026.

The loan operation includes a deferred disbursement mechanism for emergencies and complements the microeconomic reform agenda the Uruguayan government has been pursuing since 2025.
