(Energy Analytics Institute, Ian Silverman, 22.Apr.2019) — Bolivia’s National Electricity Company (ENDE by its Spanish acronym) has been authorized to operate in Argentina, which opens the door to finish a power transmission line that will allow Bolivia to export nearly 120 megawatts of electricity to its Southern Cone neighbor.

The transmission line will extend 110 kilometers from Yaguacua in Bolivia to Tartagal in Argentina, reported online media La Razón on 22 April 2019. Work on the Bolivian side of the border has already concluded.

Bolivia aims to start exporting electric energy to Argentina in September 2019, ENDE President Joaquín Rodríguez told Bolivia state information agency ABI in March 2019. The exports will generate monthly income of between $2 million and $3 million, Rodríguez said.
