Bolivia’s 50% Reduction In Electricity Rates

(Energy Analytics Institute, Ian Silverman, 19.Dec.2019) — Bolivia’s interim President Jeanine Áñez and the country’s Energy Minister Rodrigo Guzmán announced an up to 50% reduction in electricity rates nationwide.

The rates go into effect retroactively as of November 2019 and will benefit more than 1.8 million consumers nationwide, online media El Diario reported on 19 Dec.

“The ordinary rate review process, which is carried out every four years has concluded and a significant reduction in electricity rates has been achieved throughout the country,” Áñez said.
