MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 14.May.2026, Words: 415) — State-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) reported crude oil processing in the National Refining System (SNR) averaged 1.141 million barrels per day (MMb/d) in the first quarter 2026 (1Q:26), up 22.2% compared to the 1Q:25.
This result was primarily driven by the Olmeca refinery, with an increase of 164 thousand b/d (Mb/d), and the Tula refinery, which increased its processing by 39 Mb/d. The latter owing to the continuous operation of the coking unit that began operating in July 2025.
