MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Oct.2025, Words: 263) — Mexico’s government provided a summary of actions to restore connectivity in areas affected by the rains in the states of Hidalgo, Puebla, and Veracruz.
Said restoration activities are being carried out by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Altán Redes, and private operators, Pemex announced on 12 Oct. 2025 in an official statement.

Other highlights:
1. Altán Redes provided free packages with 2GB, 250 minutes of voice, and 250 text messages to 54,020 users of 68 telephone companies and mobile virtual operators in the affected areas,
2. Altán Redes also provided free roaming to Telcel in the affected areas, particularly in the state of Veracruz, which deprives approximately 50,000 users,

3. Telcel will implement free plans for 7 days in the affected areas of Veracruz and northern Puebla, and
4. beginning on 13 Oct. 2025, 1,000 emergency kits will be distributed to residents of affected areas in their care centers, with packages to include 208 voice minutes and 250 text messages. Around 1,000 emergency oral kits will be distributed at the Sam’s Club in Poza Rica.
With these actions, the residents of Hidalgo, Puebla and Veracruz will have access to internet and send and receive messages to stay in touch with their families and stay informed during the emergency, according to Pemex.
