MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 28.Feb.2025, Words: 215) — Mexico’s Security, Energy and Environment Agency (ASEA by its Spanish acronym) reports that the Saguaro Energía LNG project in Baja California currently has 5 judicial actions against it that continue to follow their legal course. As a result, it’s still not possible to start any construction work until these are resolved, according to the ASEA.

For their part, “the competent authorities of the environmental sector continue to carefully review this project in response to the request of collectives, prioritizing at all times the care of the Gulf of California and its biodiversity,” ASEA announced on 28 Feb. 2025 in an official statement.
