CARACAS, VENEZUELA (By Piero Stewart, Editores Latin Petroleum, 19.Oct.2026, Words: 138) — Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado told The New York Times she was excluded by the US administration from the negotiations taking place in Caracas between the Chavista regime and some opposition representatives.

During the interview published by the news outlet, the political leader questioned ties and energy contracts with businessman Alejandro Betancourt, identifying him as one of the actors responsible for the collapse of public services in the country.

Regarding the allegations of human rights violations attributed to the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, she proposed the creation of an independent truth-seeking mechanism to guarantee reparations for victims and ensure justice is served.
