(Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 22.Dec.2024) — Trinidad and Tobago’s Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) received reports on 22 Dec. 2024 of an incident at Rig 110.
Rig 110 is an asset operated by a private sector company, Well Services Limited, the MEEI said 22 Dec. 2024 in an official statement.
“This unfortunate incident occurred in the early hours of this morning. I received my first briefing at around 3:30 a.m. I am aware that the rig is owned and operated by private sector, Well Services. We are assisting via Heritage and will render whatever assistance we can,” MEEI head Stuart Young said in the statement.
The MEEI is currently liaising with both Heritage Petroleum Limited and Well Services Limited. At this time, the incident is under investigation, the MEEI said.
