(Energy Analytics Institute, Piero Stewart, 20.Dec.2019) — EP PetroEcuador awarded Lukoil Pan Americas Llc a contract to import 1,770,000 barrels of Naphtha Ron 85, a mixing component in the production of gasoline.
Approximately 44 companies were invited to the international tender in which nine valid offers were received from Gunvor S.A., George E. Warren Llc, Vitol Inc., Trafigura Pte. Ltd. and Lukoil, the latter winning the bid offering a positive differential of $5.42 per barrel, EP PetroEcuador announced 20 Dec. in an official statement.
The volumes offered must reach Ecuador in six shipments of 295,000 +/- 2% barrels each. The first importation is slated for 28-30 Dec. 2019.
The imports will allow EP PetroEcuador to cover demand for the derivative through May 2020.
The benchmark price for the derivative is the Platts US Gulf Coast Unleaded 87 Gasoline Prompt Pipeline.
