JPMorgan raises global recession odds to 60% from 40% earlier

ATLANTA, GEORGIA (Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 4.Apr.2025) — Investment bank JPMorgan said there is now a 60% chance of a global recession after US president Donald Trump rolled out tariffs that impacted 183 countries around the world.

“The risk of a recession in the global economy this year is raised to 60%, up from 40% earlier,” JPMorgan analysts wrote on 4 Apr. 2025 in a research report titled ‘There will be blood.’
