5 IOCs in Trinidad Responsible for 32% of Sep. 2024 Oil and Condensate Output

(Piero Stewart, Energy Analytics Institute, 25.Dec.2024) — Crude oil and condensate production in Trinidad and Tobago averaged 54,154 barrels per day (b/d) in Sep. 2024, up 5.6% sequentially compared to 51,260 b/d in Aug. 2024, the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries (MEEI) announced in its most recent ‘Consolidated Monthly Bulletins.’ 

Production in Sep. 2024 is up 6.4% compared to 50,909 b/d in Jan. 2024, the MEEI said in its bulletin released 12 Dec. 2024 that includes data that spans the 9 month period from Jan. 2024-Sep. 2024.

The largest oil and condensate producer in Trinidad is Heritage Petroleum Co. Ltd. (HPCL). Thereafter, the 5 largest oil and condensate producers include Perenco, BPTT, Woodside Energy, EOG Resources and Shell, and in that order. 

Combined, these 5 international oil companies (IOCs) were responsible for 32% of Trinidad’s combined oil and condensate production in Sep. 2024, according to data compiled by Energy Analytics Institute (EAI) from MEEI’s report.
