Sempra Infrastructure is developing the ECA LNG liquefaction facility at the site of the regasification terminal in Baja California, Mexico.
Given its brownfield nature and its strategic west coast location, the ECA LNG project is geographically positioned to provide Asia and other Pacific Basin markets with access to a reliable source of North American natural gas directly from the Pacific coast, Sempra Infrastructure said.

ECA LNG Phase 1 and Phase 2
ECA LNG Phase 1 is a one-train liquefaction facility that will have capability to export 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa ) of LNG. The export facility will utilize existing LNG storage capacity, marine berth and associated facilities.
ECA LNG Phase 1 is on the site of Sempra Infrastructure’s existing ECA Regas facility. This facility still has long-term regasification contracts for 100% of its capacity through 2028, according to Sempra Infrastructure.
Sempra Infrastructure has said in recent times that it does not expect construction or operations at ECA LNG Phase 1 to interrupt operations at its ECA Regas facility.
