(Energy Analytics Institute, Aaron Simonsky, 2.Nov.2019) — Uruguay’s UTE plans to spend approximately $1,248 million during the five-year budget period 2019-2023, of which a quarter of the amount, or $312 million, will be allocated to work related to its transmission networks.

The latter figure will allow the UTE to undertake the necessary projects related to both replacement and expansion the electrical system requires to meet a demand that continues to grow, local media La Red 21 reported 2 Nov., citing details from the National Administrator of Electric Power Plants and Transmissions (UTE), which is owned by the Uruguayan government and dedicated to activities related to generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electric energy, provision of annexed services and consulting.
