CARACAS, VENEZUELA (By Piero Stewart, Editores Latin Petroleum, 24.Oct.2026, Words: 177) — The scientific vessel M.V. Fugro Brasilis arrived in Venezuela to advance a gas project on the Deltana platform.
With the arrival of the vessel in Venezuelan waters, BP Exploration, in partnership with UCC Oil and Gas Holding and XRG, formally began Phase II studies in the Lorán field, located on the Deltana platform, Venezuela’s Hydrocarbon Ministry announced on 23 Oct. 2026 in an official statement.
This strategic advancement will allow for the collection of key data from the seabed over 30-45 continuous days. This information is essential for the safe design of future production platforms and pipelines necessary for production in the area.
To ensure the success and safety of the operations, a technical team from the ministry will remain on board the vessel, overseeing strict compliance with industrial and environmental regulations.
