Scheduled power outages for high-voltage industrial segments (with demand) and medium-voltage industrial segments will now take place 3 days a week, the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MAE) reported.

According to the ministry, this new measure was established to strengthen the efficient management of energy demand because a significant number of industrial consumers have not complied with the established schedule.

The measure will optimize consumption by large users, preserve energy reserves, and strengthen the stability of the National Interconnected System (SNI), prioritizing the continuity of electricity supply for the residential sector.

In response to the measure, various business associations issued proposals and reaffirmed their willingness to collaborate with the authorities in this situation, the daily said.
