MONTERREY, MEXICO (By Isaac Silvestre, Energy Analytics Institute, 7.Jul.2026, Words: 189) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced a $500mn investment in the automotive sector. This, following Toyota‘s announcement it will move production of its Tacoma model from Tijuana to the US.
“The Ministry of Economy received confirmation of a new investment from another automotive company for more than $500 million, which will be announced in the coming days,” Sheinbaum announced on 7 Jul. 2026 during her morning presser, reading from a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy.
