(Energy Analytics Institute, 6.Nov.2024) — Sempra Infrastructure said the long-awaited Gasoducto Rosarito Expansion Pipeline (GRO by its Spanish acronym) is expected to reach commercial operations in the fourth-quarter 2024 (4Q:24).
GRO will support natural gas supply to Energía Costa Azul (ECA) LNG Phase 1, Sempra announced 6 Nov. 2024 in its official 3Q:24 financial and operational statement.
GRO is a gas pipeline system in Baja California consisting of three segments with a total length of 302 km and a 32,500 HP compression station. It interconnects with pipeline systems in the US.

The GRO has a capacity to transport 0.5 Bcf/d, according to Sempra.
ECA LNG Phase 1 is a one-train liquefaction facility that will have capability to export approximately 3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa ) of LNG and will utilize existing LNG storage capacity, marine berth and associated facilities.
ECA LNG Phase 1 is expected to commence operations in spring 2026, Sempra said in the statement.
