“Energy and our country’s resources are reaffirmed as what they are: a strategic public good whose guarantee is the responsibility of the state, and whose sovereignty is not negotiable, but defended, built, and honored,” González said on 18 Mar. 2026 during an event from Pueblo Viejo, Veracruz broadcast on Mexican television on the 88th anniversary of the oil expropriation.
