BELIZE CITY, BELIZE (Aaron Simonsky, Energy Analytics Institute, 23.Dec.2024, Words: 428) — The floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) Alexandre de Gusmão has left the COSCO Shipping (Qidong) Offshore shipyard in China for Brazil.
The vessel will be the eighth SBM Offshore unit to operate in Brazil and is headed to the Mero Field, located in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, 190km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro. There, first oil is slated for 2025, SBM said on 23 Dec. 2024 in an official statement.
