ATLANTA, GEORGIA (By Chad Archey, Energy Analytics Institute, 17.Aug.2026, Words: 155) — With the support of Citgo Petroleum Corporation, the Simón Bolívar Foundation awarded an initial $3mn in earthquake recovery funding through 3 projects under its natural disasters relief program to address ongoing needs in Venezuela for emergency medical care, essential medicines, food assistance and temporary shelter.
Building on those initial projects, Citgo has approved an additional $7mn to support future disaster relief and recovery initiatives through the foundation, bringing total support for 2026 relief efforts to up to $10mn, the Houston-based refiner said on 17 Aug. 2026 in an official statement.
