Sheinbaum says Mexico and US reach historic security agreement

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 27.Sep.2025, Words: 245) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo announced that following the first meeting of the committee created to discuss security issues with the US government that a historic agreement was reached to strengthen operations to control the flow of weapons from the US to Mexico.

“Now, for the first time, we want the first thing discussed to be the weapons coming from the United States to Mexico. And yesterday, we reached an agreement that the United States will strengthen operations in the United States to control the flow of weapons from the United States to Mexico,” Sheinbaum said from Mazatlán, Sinaloa.
