Mexico reports historic 2Q FDI of $34.3bn, Sheinbaum says

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 21.Aug.2025, Words: 249) — Mexico reported the second-highest quarter of foreign direct investment (FDI) between the 3-month period that spanned Apr.-Jun. 2025. This, with reported FDI of $34.265bn, according to Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo who said that “not even tariffs could stop the Mexican economy.”

Sheinbaum said the figure exceeds the $31.096bn recorded in the same 3-month period in 2024, “which had already been a record, and is practically more than double that of 2017.”
