The purpose of the initiative is to “counteract the bias in dominant AI platforms, which reflect the colonialist and imperialist vision and interests of the West,” Venezuela’s president Nicolás Maduro Moros announced on 14 Jul. 2025 during a televised broadcast in Venezuela.
