Shienbaum says historic 1Q:25 FDI of $21.4bn shows investor confidence in Mexico

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 22.May.2025, Words: 400) — Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Mexico reached a historic maximum level of $21.4bn in the first-quarter 2025 (1Q:25), up from $20.3bn in the 1Q:24 and up from just $4.4bn in the 1Q:12, according to reports from the country’s Secretariat of Economy.

“Within international conditions, because the [US] tariff issue has significantly changed the global economy, Mexico’s economic indicators are very good,” Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said on 22 May 2025 during her morning press conference “las mañaneras del pueblo.”
