CFE lays out $22.4bn plan for generation, transmission and distribution during 2025-2030

HOUSTON, TEXAS (Editors at Energy Analytics Institute, 9.Apr.2025) — Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and her team revealed updated data related to strengthening and expanding the national electric system between 2025-2030.

The plan falls under the Plan Mexico umbrella, which aims to strengthen state-owned Federal Electricity Commission (CFE by its Spanish acronym) as well as Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

Based on the details, CFE has its eyes set on investments of $22.377bn between 2025-2030, according to the state-owned agency’s head Emilia Esther Calleja.
