(Aaron Simonsky, Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Jan.2025) — Work continues to expand the electricity supply in Taquimilán, Neuquén to provide public lighting to 242 lots located at the entrance to the town and is close to reaching completion.
Approximately 95% of the work has been completed and is progressing within the planned execution deadlines, the secretariat of the government of Neuquén announced on 12 Jan. 2025 in an official statement, citing data from the Neuquén Provincial Energy Entity (EPEN).
When completed, the project will provide electricity to 15 blocks located in Taquimilán, according to the secretariat.

Investment in the project is expected to exceed ARS876mn Argentine pesos.
The project includes placement of medium and low voltage overhead lines spanning some 6,700m, installation of 143 luminaires for public lighting, and 3 transformer substations of 315 kilovolt-amperes (kVA).
Work on the project has advanced under the administration of Argentina’s president Javier Milei owing to a renegotiation of contracts, EPEN president Mario Moya said in the statement.
This work translates into a total change in the quality of life of the inhabitants of Taquimilá, Moya said.
