MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 18.Mar.2025) — Within the framework of the 87th anniversary of Mexico’s oil expropriation, Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo signed a decree for release in the Official Journal of the Federation (DOF by its Spanish acronym) of 8 secondary laws on energy matters aimed at recovering state-owned Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) and the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE by its Spanish acronym) as public companies of the state.
The most important thing is that the companies are being recovered vertically to importantly to strengthen Pemex’ efficiency and performance, Sheinbaum said on 18 Mar. 2025 during her mañanera or daily briefing with the media.
