Mexico to Invest $23.4bn to Boost Energy Generation by 22,000 MW by 2030

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO (By Fidencio Casillas, Energy Analytics Institute, 12.Jan.2025, Words: 135) — Mexico looks to make investments of $23.4bn during 2024-2030 to boost its energy generation capacity by 22,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030.

The investments envisioned for Mexico’s Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) include: $12.3bn to build new power plants, $7.5bn to reinforce the transmission network, and $3.6bn for the distribution network, Mexico’s president Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo said 12 Jan. 2025 during her presentation of Plan Mexico.
